No, You’re you’re one of those people who enters a home for the first time tuned to the sound of water splashing in a stainless steel sink, of utensil drawers being dug through, and the soft kiss of a refrigerator door opening.
That’s right, you’re a kitchen design junkie.
Well, the parents at Holy Cross School in Rumson have got your number.
For the second year in a row, the winter fundraiser of the Holy Cross School PTA will take the form of a kitchen tour. Five residential kitchens in three towns Rumson, Fair Haven and the Locust section of Middletown will be on display.
“Because Holy Cross is committed to community building as well as increasing school spirit,” says event co-chair Megan Modin, “we recognized that there is no better way to open our hearts than to open our homes.”
According to Modin and co-chair Darrah Kenney, the tour will highlight what the selection committee has dubbed “the Fabulous Five,” which they believe are some of the most intriguing homes in the area. They include an historic Fair Haven home built in the late 1800s; a newly constructed showplace in Rumson, and a waterfront home in Locust that graces the shores of the Navesink River.
The event is Friday, February 19, from 10a until 2p. Tickets are $50, which includes a gourmet boxed lunch at David Burke Fromagerie.
