With an alert that included three giant exclamation marks, Borough of Red Bank officials warned residents that on-street parking restrictions are in effect due to a winter storm forecast to hit Saturday into Sunday. We’re posting this at 2 pm on Saturday and your cars should already be moved off the streets.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory (not quite a winter storm warning) with up to two inches of snow forecast to fall, with snow changing to freezing rain and then rain overnight.
Here’s the alert sent out by the borough:
Attention Red Bank residents: As we approach the upcoming winter storm, we want to update you on critical information.
The National Weather Service’s latest briefing indicates that storm impacts have increased, so we urge everyone to prepare accordingly.
No On-Street Parking is permitted when roads are snow-covered as per Ordinance 680-3/680-55. Residents are REQUIRED to move their vehicles by 11 am tomorrow (2/8). Citations will be issued to vehicles in violation.
Reminder: Municipal lots will be available for parking from today through Sunday at 10 am.
Additionally, snow removal operations will begin this afternoon, so please be mindful of crews working to clear the roads.
