The Feast at First Baptist Church held their annual Thanksgiving meal for the community Sunday, with more than 30 volunteers serving a feast for 150 people.
“The goal of this event is to bring all the people together who have helped this past year along with newer people to give thanks, celebrate the past year, and let folks know about who we are,” said Matthew Littlehale, director of Dinner Church.
Dinner Church is a community meal that is held every Sunday and Monday night from 3:00-6:00pm at the church at 84 Maple Avenue.
“The meal is open to everyone,” Littlehale said in an email. “We work with other organizations to provide the meals every week. This past year, we have worked with 30 different organizations. We aim to be a place where people from any background or status can come experience community, gathering not as people serving and being served – but as equals enjoying a meal together.”
