TEMPS IN MID-NINETIES FORECAST

mbc-sailor-062210It’s going to be nasty hot in the Red Bank area today, the National Weather Service says.

There’s also a slight chance of thunderstorms, the agency forecasts.  More likely, though, are “damaging” wind gusts.

Here’s the look-ahead:

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 101. West southwest wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Northwest wind between 7 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84. North northwest wind between 5 and 7 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. South wind between 6 and 8 mph.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind between 3 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
