The long-overdue snowmelt is finally underway.
Having seen temperatures climb into the high forties over the weekend after what seemed an ice age, Red Bank-area residents can expect to see the mercury shoot past 50 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service.
Between wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour, that is. That part of the outlook has prompted the issuance of a wind advisory.
Here’s the forecast:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. Breezy, with a west wind between 14 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Windy, with a northwest wind between 22 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 16 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. West wind between 6 and 14 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.
