TUESDAY: “Family Night Out” to benefit Lunch Break
By dining at any one of 11 participating restaurants on June 12, Red Bank area residents can help take a bite out of hunger. A portion (or bite) of the proceeds from each lunch or dinner will be donated directly to Lunch Break, an organization dedicated to helping community members in need. Mention Lunch Break during the meal and receive complimentary tickets to see “JAWS” at the Count Basie Theater that night at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23: Elks Casino Night and Poker Tournament
Red Bank Elks Lodge #233 will host its inaugural casino fundraiser from 6 to 11 p.m. at 40 West Front Street in an effort to support its charitable volunteerism.
The Elks, comprised of over 470 Red Bank area members, focus on special needs children and their families, military veterans, both active and retired, community needs, such as scholarships, and sporting activities for local students. The $50 ticket fee covers dinner, music by DJ Joe McGrath, games, and $50 in play money. Tickets for the optional Texas Hold’Em Tournament are an additional $50 per person. Both Casino and Tournament tickets can be purchased at the lodge or online.

Jersey Shore Premiere Events hosted a red carpet business networking event at Molly MaguireÂ’s Black Point Inn in Rumson June 6. Part of the proceeds went to the Lieutenant Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund, a local charity that provides scholarships and support to soldiers returning home. From 6 to 9 p.m. 100-150 local business owners were invited to come down and rub elbows with each other for a $10 fee which included a buffet dinner.
“We’re trying to get everybody to start networking and make new connections,” said Rosa Davis, who co-founded JSPE with Chris Fotache. Those in attendance also had the opportunity to promote their businesses via a red carpet interview with NJPE’s host, Melissa Maria. Vendors included Real Housewives Jewelry, Jersey Shore Vacations, Driven By Excellence, Precision Tech Electric, Inc., Comfort Inn Middletown/Red Bank, Alpine Medical Supply, and more.

The Red Bank Middle School Athletics Foundation raffle winners were announced June 7 at 8 p.m. at the Recognition Celebration, held at the middle school. The winners are:
• Grand prize – 46”, 3D, flat-screen Samsung HDTV, retail value of $1,500 – Allen Palma of Red Bank
• Monster Sports Package – Grand Sports Package – Sheri Wright (online submission)
• Best of Red Bank Package – Ann Roseman of Red Bank
A total of 290 tickets were sold in the raffle, raising $4,000 for the 2012-2013 school year.
