A Red Bank man suffered a head injury of unknown severity when he was struck by a car on Broad Street Friday afternoon, police said.
John Geiger, 30, was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center after he was struck in a crosswalk at Mechanic Street by a 2012 Toyota, according to department spokesman Captain Darren McConnell.
Geiger’s condition was not known at 5 p.m., McConnell said.
Driver Philip Rankin, 64, of Vero Beach, Florida was making a left turn from Mechanic onto Broad when he hit Geiger, McConnell said.
Rankin was issued a summons for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, McConnell said. Sergeant Michael Furlong is investigating.
A similar accident occurred at the same location last November.
