The ‘something’ is a Sunoco logo, and most of the 17 readers who wrote in correctly identified its location as…
the former Sunoco gas station on River Road in Fair Haven. Owner Rich Bercaw closed it in late 2011 after 20 years in business, and it remains sadly boarded up.
But four correspondents mistook the photo for that of another shuttered Sunoco the former Duckworth’s station on Broad Street (Route 35) in Shrewsbury.
By coincidence, Bercaw also ran that station for two years, closing it in 2002.
