Red Bank businesses with store and office-fronts in need of sprucing up may be eligible for façade-improvement grants of up to $1,850 under a program that Mayor Pasquale Menna is set to detail Wednesday afternoon.
Here’s an announcement from borough hall issued Monday afternoon:
Mayor Pasquale has announced that there will be a meeting at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 21, to provide information to business and property owners about a Grow Monmouth Façade Improvement Program that will provide a grant opportunity for buildings in eligible areas.
The program, the newest initiative under Monmouth County’s Grow Monmouth program, uses HUD Community Development Block Grant funds to help improve the look of privately held commercial buildings that are located in eligible areas. Those interested can apply for a grant of up to $1,850 for a façade upgrade such as a new awning, paint door or sign. There are no matching funds required from the business and the total project cannot exceed $1,850. A total of $75,000 has been set aside for this program and almost all of Red Bank is included in the eligible area.
Mayor Menna is urging all store owners, property owners and anyone with an interest to attend the informational meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, at 2pm in the Courtroom/Council Chambers on the first floor of the Municipal Building at 90 Monmouth Street.  Grant applications will be available on the Monmouth County website, www.visitmonmouth.com on Friday, August 23. A map of eligible areas is also available on the site by clicking the Grow Monmouth button.
