A pair of house fires in Middletown and a hit-and-run accident of a pedestrian in Sea Bright occurred over the weekend, according to news reports.

According to NJ.com, a Saturday morning fire at 917 Park Place, in the River Plaza section of the township, caused severe damage. The blaze took 45 firefighters 45 minutes to bring under control, the news site reported.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The second blaze, reported around 3:15 a.m. Sunday at 135 Deepdale Drive, displaced four members of a family, NJ.com reported.

From the report:

Middletown Township Fire Department spokesman John Isaksen said in an email that approximately 55 firefighters from five fire companies responded to help fight the blaze in the attached garage of the two-and-a-half story home, which was fueled in part by two burning vehicles.

A small amount of fire also extended to the attic home, Isaksen said. Chief Peter Laimann declared the fire under control within 45 minutes, he said.

The roof of the garage section of the home collapsed and the home sustained smoke and water damage, leaving it uninhabitable, Isaksen said.

In Sea Bright, a man was found on Ocean Avenue early Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene, NJ.com reported.

The victim, who was not identified, was reported to be in and out of consciousness and was taken to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Police Chief John Sorrentino said police do not have a description of the driver or the vehicle.
