FAIR HAVEN MAN CHARGED IN BREAK-IN SPREE

AUTHORITIES_MTOWN-2016-v3Middletown police arrested a 38-year-old Fair Haven man last Friday on charges he went on a recent burglary spree in the township, smashing his way into at least eight retail businesses and restaurants since mid-March, they allege.

In each case, David Aochoa, 38, of Third Street, is alleged to have gained entry by throwing a red brick through a glass door, according to a series of MTPD complaints.

RED BANK: BURGLARY AT MARKET REPORTED

AUTHORITIES_RB-2016-v3Red Bank police are investigating a burglary that occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning at Citarella’s Market on Prospect Avenue, Chief Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen.

McConnell said the burglar or burglars forced their way into the shop through the front door and stole a small amount of cash. An investigation is underway, he said.

RED BANK FIRE HERO IN MORE HOT WATER

just_in1A Red Bank man who was lauded for heroism in a 2011 fire is in legal trouble again.

Robert Womble Jr., 53, of Evergreen Terrace, was arrested by Asbury Park police Saturday and charged with trying to steal a $40 item from a Rite Aid store in that city, according to a police report.

Police said Womble scratched the hands and arms of two employees who tried to stop him.

TRIO CHARGED IN BREAK-IN BEATING

Two Red Bank men and one from Long Branch broke into a home in Tinton Falls Monday and beat an occupant bloody as payback for some perceived wrong, police reported.

Timothy Johnson, 27, of Leighton Avenue, Larry Johnson, 37, of Montgomery Terrace, and Kwame Johnson, 37, of Long Branch, face multiple charges for the alleged attack in a William Street home that left the victim with a contusions and other injuries.

The relationship of the three, if any, was not immediately available.

COPS NAB MAN FOR CAR BREAK-INS

just_in1A Tinton Falls man was arrested by Red Bank police early Tuesday morning after a witness reported a break-in underway at a Lincroft motel, Middletown police say.

Louis DeAngelo, 34, of Howard Avenue, was spotted on Shrewsbury Avenue by Red Bank Patrolman Michael Zadlock after Middletown police broadcast a description given by a witness.

The witness reported having seen someone breaking into vehicles parked at the Extended Stay America Motel on Newman Springs Road at 2:15a, according to Middletown police spokesman Detective Lieutenant Steve Dollinger.
