The new Immediate Care urgent-care center in Red Bank has all the markings of a healthcare industry play, suggesting teams of doctors pooling their resources to exploit an opening in the era of Obamacare.

But the brains behind the operation is actually a former print-shop owner who’s now on his third career, none of which required studying cadavers or using stethoscopes.

RED BANK: HOOPS AT THE TERRACE

RB HOOPS 2RB HOOPS 1After a recent facelift by donors and volunteers, the long-disused basketball court at Montgomery Terrace in Red Bank saw some action over the past three weekends, as the Community YMCA and others hosted a basektball clinic for kids who lived nearby.

RED BANK: BON JOVI TO PLAY BASIE

bon jovi 101911just_in1Jon Bon Jovi and “his local side band,” the Kings of Suburbia, will perform at Red Bank’s Count Basie Theatre in a fundraiser for the Parker Family Health Center on July 30, the theater announced Monday. BON JOVI TO ROCK OUT FOR PARKER CLINIC

bon-joviMiddletown property owner Jon Bon Jovi has scheduled an “intimate,” $250-a-seat concert next month to raise money for Red Bank’s Parker Family Medical Center.

News of the benefit appeared yesterday on the website of the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, the venue that will host the January 27 show.

The venue’s website says the tickets go on sale today at 10a, but the tour page at Bon Jovi’s website says the show is sold out.
