On January 31, 2012 at approximately 5:50 pm the Middletown Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy located on Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown. Police say the suspect was described as a white male with a thin build between 5’08 and 6’00 tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a grey stripe on the front, large black framed sunglasses and dark colored pants.

PAIRED CHARGED IN GUN & JEWELRY THEFT

mtpd-patrol-car• On October 6, 2011 at approximately 1:15 am Patrolman Richard Fulham and Sgt. John Werner were on patrol in the area of Wilson Avenue when they stopped a motor vehicle for a violation. The officers approached the vehicle at which point they detected an odor of raw Marijuana coming from inside the car.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a plastic baggie containing Marijuana from the center console of the vehicle and the arrest of the driver, identified as Patrick Nolan, age 19, from Dekalb Avenue in Woodbridge, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

ROLLERBLADER ASSAULTED ON SKATE HOME

mtown-cop-carsA man rollerblading in the area of Brandywine Way in Middletown was assaulted by three men Sunday, police said.

According to Detective Lieutenant Steve Dollinger, the unidentified victim was rollerblading home from a friend’s house when a car with three men in it drove by and the men started yelling obscenities. The car then pulled over and the three got out and attacked the victim, knocking him to the ground and hitting him in the head and face, Dollinger said.

Police were able to track down the car and arrested the three suspects — two from Keansburg and another from Port Monmouth — and charged each with simple assault.

M’TOWN COPS MAKE RX FRAUD ARREST

Middletown police busted a Keansburg man late last month for allegedly submitting a false prescription for 120 Oxycodone pills at a pharmacy in the Navesink section of town.

The investigation also yielded forgery and receiving stolen property charges, police said.

FEDS CHARGE LOCAL DOC IN DRUG RING BUST

A Little Silver osteopath is among 21 people facing federal drug distribution charges for her alleged role in a massive scheme to peddle the painkiller oxycodone, the Associated Press reports.

Jacqueline LoPresti, 50, who lives in Fair Haven and practices in an office on Prospect Avenue in Little Silver, is one of two doctors arrested Wednesday for “illegally writing more than 6,000 prescriptions for more than 500,000 oxycodone tablets between January 2009 and December 2010,” the AP reports.

U.S. Attorney for New Jersey scheduled a noontime press conference in Newark on the case.

PAIR NABBED IN LITTLE SILVER DRUG BUST

just_in1A 27-year-old Little Silver man is in the Monmouth County jail following his arrest at home Tuesday for possession with the intent to sell the painkiller Oxycodone, the county prosecutor’s office announced Thursday.

A Middletown man was also arrested during the search of Jonathan R. Merklinger’s home “after he approached the residence and sought to purchase” from Merklinger, according to the announcement.
