mtpd-patrol-car• On October 6, 2011 at approximately 1:15 am Patrolman Richard Fulham and Sgt. John Werner were on patrol in the area of Wilson Avenue when they stopped a motor vehicle for a violation. The officers approached the vehicle at which point they detected an odor of raw Marijuana coming from inside the car.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of a plastic baggie containing Marijuana from the center console of the vehicle and the arrest of the driver, identified as Patrick Nolan, age 19, from Dekalb Avenue in Woodbridge, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 5, 2011 at Detective Adam Finck and Detective Daniel Sullivan arrested Michael Masonius, age 19, from Main Street in Warrensburg, NY, and Claudette Masonius, age 39, from Harding Road in Laurence Harbor, NJ, for Burglary, Theft and Conspiracy after an investigation into a burglary that took place at a residence on Devonshire Court on September 13, 2011 during which a handgun and jewelry were stolen.

Both subjects were being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ on $110,000.00 bail with no 10% option.

• On October 5, 2011 at approximately 10:00 pm Patrolman Brady Carr responded to the Bottle King Liquor Store in reference to a report of an underage person who was attempting to purchase alcohol. Upon arrival the officer was advised by store employees that the subject, identified as Frank Constantini, age 20, from Leslie Lane in Middletown, NJ, had attempted to purchase alcohol with a fake identification.

Officer Carr conducted an investigation which resulted in Constantini being charged with Tampering with Public Records. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 4, 2011 at approximately 6:00 pm Patrolman Charles Higgins and Patrolman Nicholas Caprio responded to Mike’s Bike Shop located on Avenue D in reference to a report of a stolen bike. Upon arrival the officers were advised that a subject had attempted to steal a bicycle but had brought it back to the store because it had two flat tires. The officers were also advised by the owner of the store, identified as Michael Gustafson, age 59, from Avenue D in Leonardo, NJ, that he felt he was going to be robbed so he grabbed his gun and followed the subject until he returned the bike to the store.

The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in Gustafson being arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Handgun and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held on $30,000.00 bail with a 10% option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• On October 4, 2011 at approximately 11:35 am Patrolman Robert McNair responded to the Middletown Pharmacy in reference to a report of prescription fraud. Upon arrival the pharmacist advised the officer that they had received two fraudulent prescriptions for Oxycodone.

Officer McNair conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Crystal Music, age 27, from Beechwood Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, for Obtaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance by Fraud. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

• On October 4, 2011 at approximately 2:35 am Patrolman James Beirne was on patrol in the area of Oak Hill Road when he observed a vehicle swerving in and out of its lane of travel. Officer Beirne stopped the vehicle and approached the vehicle at which point he detected a strong odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Officer Beirne conducted an investigation which resulted in a rear seat passenger, identified as Arthur Mathurin, age 20, from Abby Road in Middletown, NJ, being arrested for Unlawful Possession of Roxycodone. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting $5,000.00 bail.

• On October 3, 2011 at approximately 12:00 pm Detective Laurence Schachtel and Corporal Jack Hueston responded to a report of a suspicious person who was caught inside a residence on Monmouth Avenue in Leonardo by the homeowner. Upon arrival the homeowner directed the officers to a male subject, identified as Justin Taylor, age 18, from Mohawk Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, who was now down the street.

The officers located Taylor, conducted an investigation and determined that Taylor had attempted to burglarize the residence when the homeowner interrupted him. Detective Schachtel charged Taylor with Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and was held on $10,000.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• On September 29, 2011 at approximately 5:55 pm Patrolman Darrin Simon was on patrol in the area of the WAWA store in Leonardo when he observed a vehicle exit the parking lot of the store, cross over a lane of traffic and strike a steel storm drain. Officer Simon approached the driver, identified as Meggin Heuring, age 35, from Bay Avenue in Highlands, NJ, at which point he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle.

Officer Simon conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and two glass pipes used to smoke Crack Cocaine and the arrest of Heuring for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Crack, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released pending a court date.

• The Middletown Police Department reports the arrests of the follow subjects for various offenses:

James Best, age 28, Maplewood Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested October 3, 2011 by Patrolman Robert McNair on numerous Contempt of Court warrants issued by various municipal courts. He was being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, NJ.

Jesse Pianelli, age 21, from Ramsey Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 3, 2011 by Corporal Richard Fusella on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Aberdeen Municipal Court. He was released after posting $114.00 bail.

Timothy Ohare, age 27, from Tindall Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 3, 2011 by Corporal Richard Fusella on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $200.00 bail.

Denise Terracciano, age 38, from Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, NJ, arrested on October 5, 2011 by Patrolman John Mele on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Keansburg Municipal Court. She was released after posting $625.00 bail.

Michael Shanahan, age 25, from Ocean Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on October 5, 2011 by Corporal Joseph Glynn on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Highlands Municipal Court.  He was released after posting $530.00 bail.

Evan Eastmond, age 20, from Seaview Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on October 4, 2011 by Patrolman Thomas Russo on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. He was released after posting $500.00 bail.

Faith Comeo, age 19, from Ocean Avenue in Union Beach, NJ, arrested on October 4, 2011 by Corporal William Kennelly on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Aberdeen Township Municipal Court. She was released after posting $250.00 bail.
