The owner of Red Bank’s City Centre strip mall hopes to put an end to unwanted drive-thru service.
After four incidents in recent years in which vehicles jumped the curb and crashed into storefronts, John Bowers will install safety bollards, he tells redbankgreen.
Two employees reported non-serious injuries after a car jumped the curb and plowed through the storefront of the Cluck U chicken restaurant on Water Street in Red Bank shortly before noon Tuesday, according to police Chief Darren McConnell. The driver was identified as Liv Wilson, 71, of Holmdel. No summonses were immediately issued, and the crash is under investigation by Patrolman Matthew Ehrenreich of the RBPD traffic safety unit.
The driver of a car that smashed into the facade of All Things Consignment on River Road in Fair Haven around 1 p.m. Monday was not seriously hurt, a witness said. Details about the accident were not immediately available. (Click to enlarge)
