From 2 to 4 pm on November 27, boys and girls ages 4 to 11 can boogie down to Taylor Swift in a dance off, complete with costumes and prizes, or participate in a Lego build off. Each of these activities is perfect for both boys and girls. The cost is $25 per dancer (or $50 per family), and all proceeds going to the Fair Haven-based Life Guard foundation and its programs of support for community members who are facing severe economic hardships.
It’s a continuation of a partnership that saw Kick Dance help support LGEF with a Thanksgiving food drive, collecting much-need food items for Thanksgiving baskets to give to local families this holiday season. Dancers collected items like grocery store gift cards, canned goods, stuffing and mashed potatoes, and other Thanksgiving food for families in need.
Thirteen-year-old Claire Ciardiello of Fair Haven, New Jersey has been accepted into the prestigious Broadway Dance Center’s (BDC) Junior Training Program this summer. The program, which runs for three weeks, provides dancers ages 13 to 17 the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Center’s legendary training program in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district. During the training, dancers will work with experienced BDC instructors alongside professional dancers, training in ballet, jazz, lyrical jazz, contemporary jazz, musical theater, funk, hip-hop, breaking, tap, and more.
Claire has been dancing since she was young, developing her love for ballet at age three, and continuing to expand her dance repertoire throughout the years. She trains at Kick Dance, a dance studio with locations in Fair Haven and Rumson — and whose owner Vanessa Berry is herself an alumna of the Broadway Dance Center.
Dancers from Kick Dance Studios of Rumson and Fair Haven recently had the exciting honor of performing in Disney’s Frozen Christmas Celebration, which was taped on December 4-8 and will air on ABC TV on Christmas Day, December 25 at 10 am EST.
More than 300 dancers from 40 studios from across the U.S. and Canada performed. The event opens with a performance by Ariana Grande, who sings “Santa Tell Me” and “Last Christmas”.
Kick’s students, ages 9-13 from Fair Haven, Rumson, Navesink, Little Silver and Shrewsbury, were selected by Disney Parks to perform in the highly-anticipated annual televised event after reviewing their taped auditions. The students appear, front and center, during two “Frozen” Celebration performances, “Let it Snow” and “In Summer”.

Press release from Kick Dance Studios
Families from across Monmouth County are invited to attend Kick Dance Studio’s Annual Kick for a Cause Performance, “Dress for MS” on Sunday, February 23rd, with four performances (12 pm, 1:15 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:45) at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.
For six years, Kick Dance Studios has been hosting Kick for a Cause Performances to benefit various charities, inspired by their students and families. This year, the group chose to donate all ticket sales to the National MS Society as a show of support for a mother of one of its dance team students who has been stricken with MS, a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. With the help of organizations like the National MS Society, new treatments and advances in research can give hope to people affected by the disease.
