In Sea Bright, where high tide was expected to hit between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., the tidal Shrewsbury River was overflowing by 8:25 a.m., and Ocean Avenue was closed, said Ed Friedman, the local deputy emergency management coordinator.
But there were no evacuations as of 8:25 a.m.
The Press also reports the closing in Middletown of Bray, Monmouth, Renfrew, Brainard, Wilson, Benton, and Burlington avenues, along with Main Street in Port Monmouth and Belford.
Palmer Avenue in Middletown and Holmdel is also being reported closed.
