Last week’s ‘Where’ showed a scale model of an Eastern Airlines plane.
It’s at 20 West Street, home of Venezia Emporium, or what proprietor Mike Venezia calls a junk shop.
“Most people call it antiques and collectibles,” he says.
Venezia says the model, which is solid aluminum and “pretty heavy,” was on display at an Eastern reservations center in Woodbridge where his son, Mike, Jr. worked.
When the airline — slogan: “We earn our wings every day” — went out of business in early 1991, younger Mike asked for and was given the model, the father says.
It’s been in the store’s window for about a year, and is for sale, priced at about $350, the elder Venezia says.
Bob Holiday and Carl Colmorgen, who radared in on this one together, share credit for being first to say ‘Where.’ Roofer Joe Ruffini also identified it.
Thanks to Bob, Carl, Joe and Mike Halfacre, who also took a guess.
