Today’s Star-Ledger says the shootings of two men at Montgomery Terrace Monday night does not appear to have been gang- or drug related, attributing that info to Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis Valentin.
An assistant prosecutor whom redbankgreen spoke to last night had declined all comment on the possible nature and circumstances of the crime. Valentin also declined to discuss a possible motive with the Ledger.
Authorities are also withholding the names of the victims, their hometowns, and the name of the hospital they’re in as part of an effort to protect them. The suspect, 19-year-old Anthony Sims, of both Red Bank and Eatontown, was still at large and believed to be “armed and dangerous,” Valentin said yesterday.
The identity of a third man Sims shot at but missed is also being withheld.
Assistant Prosecutor Peter Warshaw last night declined to comment on a report in the Asbury Park Press that the two victims are brothers.
