PRESS: LIBRARY ELEVATOR OK’D
Colorful chairs for little people await the reopening of the children’s room at the renovated Red Bank Public Library last week.
Today’s Asbury Park Press reports that the elevator at the Red Bank Public Library passed a state inspection Friday, clearing the way for borough officials to finally set a reopening date for the facility after a troublesome 15-month renovation.
Borough Administrator Stanley Sickels tells the newspaper that the date will likely be set today. The Borough Council meets tonight at 5:30p, and the status of the $1.6 million facelift is sure to come up for discussion.
Library Director Debbie Griffin-Sadel told redbankgreen last week that the library may open on a limited-hours basis for up to a week as staffers move back in from the “library express” facility at the corner of West Front Street and Maple Avenue that they’ve been operating out of since the job began in October, 2006.
