IN oRBit: BAVARO TACKLES FICTION

Markbavaro

As a tight end for the New York Giants, Mark Bavaro lived up to the team name: he once dragged what seemed to be the entire defensive backfield of the San Francisco 49ers 20 yards downfield after a catch. With his soft hands and ability to take a pummeling, he helped the Giants bag two Super Bowl victories.

Bavaro’s just published a novel about character who bears some resemblance to himself, and he’ll be making his first-ever visit to the Jersey Shore at 1p this Saturday when he stops in at River Road Books in Fair Haven for a signing.

Today’s edition of Red Bank oRBit has an interview with Bavaro in which he muses on the relative glories of the gridiron and the printed page. You’ll find it only in oRBit, Giants fans…
