IN oRBit: READING A PLAY IN LONG BRANCH

Things like props, scenery, costumes and even rehearsal schedules don’t matter too much when it comes to New Jersey Repertory Company’s long-running series of script-in-hand readings at its downtown Long Branch playhouse.

It’s a series that’s seen the likes of Stephen Colbert, Linda Hamilton, John Astin and Brian O’Halloran take the stage with little more than a chair, a spotlight and a script.

The tradition continues tonight on lower Broadway with a little something called The People’s Pimple, comedy about Mao and, well, a pimple. And nobody’s got a better read on it than Red Bank oRBit, your guide to the arts, entertainment, shopping and dining.
