WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS?
Slow week in the ‘Where‘ emailroom last week. Must have been the subdued shot we asked readers to identify.
Still, Jenn Woods, Mark Molzon, J.C. Kelly and Trish DePonti took the time to write in, as usual, and each correctly ID’d the location: the large shed-like building on Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank, opposite the Galleria and Gus’ hot dog truck.
Sourlis International, the real estate company that owns the Galleria, also owns that building.
As we reported in July, when we disclosed that Sourlis was thinking of razing the building, Historic Preservation Commission member George Bowden says the structure was the site of Hance Coal & Feed,
which became Hance & Davis, one of several coal dealers in town.
It
was later used as a produce market, but has been vacant for years and isn’t among the borough’s inventory of historic properties.
How about this week’s picture? Can you GPS it? If so, zap us an email, please.
