FRANK TALK ON GANGS PLANNED

hot-topic1Borough and state officials are planning a public discussion on the presence of gangs in Red Bank for this Saturday morning.

The event is being organized by 12th-district state Sen. Jennifer Beck and her Assembly colleagues, Caroline Casagrande and Declan O’Scanlon.

Det. Joey Fields of the Red Bank Police Department will be on hand to offer the department’s perspective.

The confab will be held in the cozy confines of Frank Talk Art Bistro & Books at 163 Shrewsbury Avenue at 10a.

A cleanup of a nearby patch of riverfront will follow.

Here’s the text of the press release issued this morning:

ADVISORY

The 12th District Legislators and the Borough of Red Bank invite you to attend a talk to discuss the local gangs in existence in the Borough. The talk will take place at Frank Talk, 163 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank at 10 a.m. with Det. Joey Fields.

Afterwards, we will walk down to an area on the banks of the Swimming River (to be determined) and do a garbage clean-up. The original plan had been to paint over gang graffiti along Shrewsbury Avenue, but, fortunately, our neighbors saw fit to clean it themselves. Gloves and bags will be provided. Please dress in appropriate clothing and shoes, and remember the bug spray!

Hope to see you there!

Layli S. Whyte
Communications Director
12th Legislative District

Senator Jennifer Beck
Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon
Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande
