A fire damaged at least one apartment in downtown Red Bank late Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from the borough’s volunteer firefighting squad responded to the alarm at 19 Leroy Place about 4:45p and appeared to have extinguished it by 5:15.
No official information about the fire was immediately available, but initial reports indicated it began in a first-floor unit at the southeast corner of the three-story stucco structure.
A man who did not give his name told redbankgreen told him his apartment, which was empty at the time of the alarm, was the scene of the fire.
