The Red Bank Police Department executed a narcotics search
warrant on Friday evening that resulted in the arrest of two Red Bank
men. The raid at a Bank Street residence was conducted following an
investigation by Det. Robert Clayton into narcotics dealing at the
location.
Arrested in the raid were Milo Rainey, 62 years of age and Darryl
Laing, 24 years of age, both of Red Bank. They were each charged
with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin),
Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to
Distribute, Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a
School Zone, and Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet
of a Public Housing Project. Additionally, Rainey was charged with
Possession of a Weapon by Certain Persons not to Possess a
Weapon after being found in possession of a knife.
Bail was set at $122,500 for Rainey and $115,000 for Laing and
each were committed to the Monmouth County Correctional
Institution. Marika Laing, the mother of Darryl Laing, was also
arrested during the incident for numerous outstanding warrants. She
was also committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
Red Bank Police were assisted by members of the Monmouth
County Prosecutor’s Office and a K-9 unit from the Monmouth County
Sheriff’s Department.
