Chief Darren McConnell said Monday he could not release the names of the victims, who were all found unresponsive in the house at 85 Bank Street. But one deceased victim has been identified to redbankgreen by his brother.

A Red Bank man and woman were arrested on drug manufacturing and dealing charges following a predawn raid on their East Side residence Friday, Chief Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen.

Executing a knock-and-announce warrant on the house at 20 St. Nicholas Place shortly before 6 a.m., police broke through the front door and confiscated an undetermined quantity of heroin, crack cocaine, ecstasy and a small amount of marijuana, McConnell said.

RED BANK: OPIOID ADDICTION CITED IN OBIT

The obituary of a former Red Bank man who died of a drug overdose last week includes some unusually frank talk about his addiction.

“A beautiful life cut short way too soon, Carter Armour Stone, passed away on September 26th from a drug overdose,” begins the obit, published Wednesday at app.com. “He was 32 years old.”

SHREWSBURY: SEABROOK ZONE ISSUE CITED

Shrewsbury officials have notified representatives of a new addiction-counseling center that a key aspect of the operation appears to conflict with local zoning law, redbankgreen has learned.

Five days after Governor Chris Christie got into a shouting match with protesters at the opening of the Seabrook House outpatient facility on White Street, borough Attorney Martin Barger confirmed the nonprofit has been told by letter that its plan for group counseling sessions is not permitted in the zone.

RED BANK: DRUG OVERDOSE CASES SOARING

One-hundred-sixty-five people died of drug overdoses in Monmouth County last year, almost double the number just four years ago, the prosecutor’s office reported Tuesday.

Despite the widespread, often successful use of a fast-acting opiate antidote, the number of overdose victims continued to soar last year, rising 35 percent, the agency reported.

Red Bank police Chief Darren McConnell said the number of overdose cases in the borough over the last two years is “ridiculously higher” than he’d seen in the first three decades in law enforcement.

RED BANK: MAN CHARGED IN COPPER THEFT

Joseph Pfeifer, 27, of Third Street, was arrested in the midst of stealing $7,800 worth of copper wiring in front of a home on South Pearl Street at about 10:30 a.m. last Tuesday, said Chief Darren McConnell.

MIDDLETOWN: FIVE BUSTED FOR HEROIN

AUTHORITIES_MTOWN2-2014On August 1, 2014 Patrolman Nicholas Haines was on patrol in the area of Highway 35 when he observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle violation. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop at which point he observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Officer Haines conducted a further investigation which resulted in the recovery of the drug paraphernalia, a bag of heroin and the arrest of Lauren Dosil, age 24, from Twinbrooks Avenue in Middletown, NJ.

Officers conducted a further search incident to the arrest at which point they located 23 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, and further drug paraphernalia.

RED BANKERS SENTENCED FOR HEROIN IN N.C.

HOT-TOPIC_02Two Red Bank residents were among five New Jerseyans – all said to be members of a gang – who pleaded guilty ad were sentenced for heroin trafficking in North Carolina last week, according to a report by Star News Online.
