A Red Bank public works crew was on the scene of a water main break at Central Avenue and Drs. James Parker Boulevard late Thursday afternoon.
A crew supervisor said the break, which occurred at about 2:20p, was caused by a paving contractor laying asphalt on Central Avenue.
The break, which was described by workers as “minor,” resulted in outages or low water pressure to just a handful of homes and businesses in the immediate vicinity.
The repair was expected to be completed by early evening.
