Yet another busy week for Middletown police, the department reports, with seven arrests the last five days.
In today’s weekly roundup from Detective Lieutenant Steve Dollinger, there’s a man wielding a belt with a combination lock tied to the end, a report of a car v. barrier on the Garden State Parkway and a couple of arrests on warrants.
At about 10:30 Sunday morning, Officer Larisa Doriety responded to the area of Wilson Drive, where there was a report of a man swinging a weapon at passing cars. Doriety drew her weapon on the man, 25-year-old Sean Lynch, who was holding a knife and leather belt with a combination lock fastened to the end, and ordered him to drop the weapons, Dollinger said. He was placed under arrest without incident.
Lynch was charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was processed and release pending a court appearance.
On Friday, at about 11a, a Kruger Place woman was arrested for having hypodermic syringes in her car.
Dollinger said Tiffanile Czaplicki, 28, was parked in the area of Cooper Road when they conducted a search of her car on suspicion of drug use and found two syringes. She was arrested and charged with possession of hypodermic syringes and released on a summons pending a court appearance.
A report of an erratic vehicle on the Garden State Parkway early Saturday morning resulted in the arrest of a 52-year-old Tinton Falls man.
Police say Thomas Delia struck a barrier on the Parkway and then got off at Red Bank/Lincroft exit 109. He was stopped on Newman Springs Road, where an investigation led to his arrest. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
Delia, of Dawn Court in Tinton Falls, was processed and released on summonses pending a court appearance.
A report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Mulberry Lane Saturday morning led to a drug arrest, Dollinger said.
At about 4:45a, police responded to the area and located Ryan Kelty, 21, who was found to be illegally in possession of a prescription drug, Dollinger said. Kelty, of Bray Avenue, was charged with the crime, processed and released on a summons pending a court appearance.
Kelty was also one of three people who had an active warrant out for his arrest, Dollinger said.
The other two:
Ryan Canavan, 18, of Jefferson Street, was arrested and held on $500 bail on a contempt of court warrant issued by Middletown Police.
Michael Roy, 30, of Bayside Parkway, was arrested and held on $6,800 bail on a warrant issued by the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office.
