An early-morning brawl involving eight to 10 teens Saturday in a residential section of Little Silver sent one man to the hospital and led to another being charged with assault, Little Silver police said.

The altercation, which occurred outside a party at a Lippincott Road home at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday and required assistance from neighboring towns, also left others with minor injuries, Police Chief Dan Shaffery said.

According to Shaffery, police responded to the east end of Lippincott — the road connects in a horseshoe to Little Silver Point Road — for a noise complaint. When officers arrived, “they observed multiple subjects fighting and requested patrols from neighboring towns,” he said.

While medical personnel treated several people on the scene, 19-year-old David Incle Jr., of Aberdeen, was sent to Riverview Medical Center for treatment of a laceration from a broken bottle, Shaffery said.

Thomas Price Jr., 20, of Ocean, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. He was released pending a court date, Shaffery said.

The cause of the brawl is unknown, but Shaffery said it was not related to any post-prom party.

“It was just a regular party,” he said. “It was an isolated incident.”
