In a ranking that skews heavily toward the state’s wealthiest municipalities, Rumson and Fair Haven are included in a new ranking of ‘top towns’ by New Jersey Monthly magazine.
Rumson ranks fifth overall, and Fair Haven 14th, in a survey that “considered five categories to represent the quality of life in New JerseyÂ’s 566 municipalities: home values, property taxes, crime rate, school performance and a lifestyle factor,” the magazine reports.
Well, not all 566 were considered. Towns with populations below 1,500 were left out because of difficulty in getting statistically significant data, the magazine reports in its latest issue.
