rbtys-2010-2Some 116 residents are registered to participate as sellers in the fourth annual Red Bank Townwide Yard Sale, slated for Saturday.

In conjunction with a used-book sale scheduled for Monday, the event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Red Bank Public Library, which helps pay for enhanced programs at the West Front Street facility.

Here’s an announcement that went out Wednesday:

1.  If you want balloons to designate your house as a RBTW Yard Sale participant, you must pick them up at the RB Public Library (84 West Front St) starting at 7:30am Saturday.  I realize some of you may have been told they would be delivered but there has been a change of plans because we are short of volunteers Saturday morning.
2.  There is a rain date (Sunday)posted on info about the Yard Sale.  HOWEVER, we highly recommend you try to have your sale on Saturday.  THERE WILL BE NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF A RAIN OUT.  It is entirely up to you as to whether or not to proceed with your sale.  Some things to keep in mind:  The library is not open on Sunday so we will be unable to hand out balloons,  the library will be holding its book sale rain or shine on Saturday.  It did rain a couple years ago and sales went on…using garages, porches, living rooms.   PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE LIBRARY FOR INFORMATION.  THE LIBRARIANS WILL NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION FOR YOU REGARDING THE WEATHER CONDITIONS OR STATUS OF YARD SALES.
3.  There will be no refunds of registration fees if it rains.
4.  Maps with addresses and listed goods will be available online Friday evening and paper copies at the library Saturday morning.
We have over 100 participants as of this writing (we always get those last minute people too), so it should be a great day in Red Bank!
We will be moving the Townwide Yard Sale to May 7 next year so mark it on your calendar now!
Good Luck and Good Sales!  Any questions please email me.
