The pedestrian struck by a Jeep on Broad Street in Red Bank Wednesday afternoon is out of the hospital, and the Jeep’s driver was issued a summons, police said Thursday.
Vivian Maxwell, 52, of Matawan was treated and released from Riverview Medical Center following the accident, which occurred at about 2:45 p.m.
Details of her injuries were not disclosed.
Maxwell was hit in the crosswalk as other cars waited for her to cross to the east side of Broad, said Captain Darren McConnell.
Driver MaryAnn Costa, 25, of Fair Haven was turning south onto Broad from Mechanic Street when she struck Maxwell, McConnell said.
Costa was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, a non-criminal offense, he said.
