A thief or thieves broke into a Little Silver home sometime during the day, getting away with an unspecified amount of jewelry.
Separately, the quiet burg’s police department also reported an early-morning arrest of an Asbury Park man on outstanding warrants and for possession of a stun gun after a brief foot chase, police Chief Dan Shaffery tells redbankgreen.
The break-in occurred as a forcible entry sometime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at a house on Lisa Court, near White Road, Shaffery said. The house was unoccupied at the time.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Greg Oliva.
In the other matter, for which full Shaffery said details were not immediately available, Patrolman Chenoweth stopped Tyreek Simmons, 25 years old, for questioning as he walked along Branch Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Simmons fled on foot but was captured after a brief chase, Shaffery said.
Simmons was arrested on warrants totalling $846 out of Wall and Neptune townships after a brief foot pursuit. He was also charged with possessing a stun gun and obstructing the administration of law.
Simmons was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute pending bail of $1,500.
