• Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY announced that Rumson’s Thomas Gabriel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management in May of 2013.
• Also in May, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) graduated borough resident Peter Koenig from the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck. Fellow Rumsonite Lucia Santos graduated from FDU’s Florham campus in that same month.
• In other May graduation news, The College of New Jersey welcomed Rumson’s Mason Miller (Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies) among the nearly 2,000 students taking part in the 2013 Commencement Ceremony on campus.
• Rumson resident Daniel Schussheim, a graduate of Monmouth County’s Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) and a member of the Class of 2014 at Colgate University, has been conducting research in interaction between vortex and breather modes in a Josephson ladder, with Physics and Astronomy; Pre-Engineering Professor Kenneth Segall.
Each summer at Colgate’s Hamilton, NY campus, about 150 students conduct serious research in fellowships that allow them to work closely with faculty for eight to ten weeks on projects of common interest, and across disciplines.
