MIDDLETOWNERS MAKING THEIR MARKS

class-act_middletown1-209x220-6911947    Middletown High School North graduate Charles Hamilton, a member of the Class of 2015 at Colgate University, is conducting research in Uncovering the Composition and Structure of Barnacle Cement and the Relation to its Hardness, with Physics and Astronomy; Pre-Engineering Professor Rebecca Metzler.

He’s just one of many Middletown students making their mark in the academic world, and more of their stories follow…

• Susan Matolak has earned a Certificate of Advanced Study degree as a member of the Class of 2013 at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

• Amy Beekman was among a record number of graduates – 3,169 – presented with diplomas at UMass Lowell‘s 2013 Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 18 at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

• As of May 2013, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) graduated several Middletown natives from the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, including Danielle Pankey , John Kaiser, Joseph Wurtz, Michael Bienkowski and Michele Carozza.

• Also in May, The College of New Jersey  saw Middletown residents Meghan Busch (Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies), Allison Roberts (Master of Education in Instruction) and Ashley Sogluizzo (Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education Teaching) among the nearly 2,000 students taking part in the 2013 Commencement Ceremony on campus.

• James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA welcomed the class of 2017 to campus this month, with the incoming freshman class featuring two students from Middletown — Joseph Passariello, who plans to major in accounting, and Kassie Gesuelli, who plans to major in marketing.
