RED BANK, LITTLE SILVER CLASS ACTS

Laura E. Stasi of Red Bank has been inducted into the Irving Bacheller Society, the English Department’s honorary society at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Stasi is a member of the Class of 2015 at St. Lawrence and is majoring in English. Stasi graduated from Red Bank Regional High School.

To be eligible for membership, students must have either completed four English courses and maintained a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) in English or completed six English courses with at least a 3.25 GPA in English and a 3.0 GPA overall.

The Irving Bacheller Society is named for a 1882 graduate of St. Lawrence, who went on to write the first best-selling novel of the 20th century, Eben Holden.

Local residents were among the officers named to student clubs and organizations at The University of Scranton for the 2013-2014 academic year.

John Pouso of Little Silver was named president of the Society of Accounting Students . Pouso is a senior in the Jesuit university’s Kania School of Management.

Paige Taylor of Red Bank was named president of the ENACTUS . Taylor is a senior in the Jesuit university’s College of Arts and Sciences.

The University of Scranton has more than 80 student clubs and organizations.
