For five years now, two venerable institutions of the Green, Prown’s Home Improvement and Dorn’s Classic Images have been putting their heads together to create a calendar that keeps the past alive and helps out a charity or two.
The 2014 edition continues the tradition and includes 14 classic black-and-white photos of Red Bank kids. The images were selected from the Dorn’s collection, curated by George and Kathy Dorn Severini.
Themed “Prown’s Remembers Red Bank Youth,” the calendar dovetails with Prown’s owner David Prown’s deep involvement with borough youngsters, many of them economically disadvantaged.
Proceeds from this year’s calendar sales will be split between the Red Bank branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County‘s and the Future Bucs Red Bank.
The calendar is available at the Prown’s Home Improvements showroom, 135 Monmouth Street, for $12. It may also be ordered online for $17..
