An 18-year-old woman survived a leap in front of a North Jersey Coast Line train at the Red Bank station on New Year’s Day, authorities tell redbankgreen.
Citing privacy restrictions, New Jersey Transit spokesman John Durso did not release the name and hometown of the victim, whose age was obtained by redbankgreen from other authorities.
According to Durso, witnesses saw the woman jump from the platform on the northbound side of the tracks in front of a train headed to New York as it entered the station at about 11:20 a.m.
She was taken by emergency medical personnel to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she was treated for undisclosed but non-life-threatening injuries, Durso said.
The incident resulted in a one-hour delay for the train, he said.
