morsels mediumFor some Scotch drinkers, a tumbler of neat single-malt around an outdoor fire pit overlooking the Navesink can only be improved upon by the addition of a good cigar.

If that’s your bag, Salt Creek Grille in Rumson is the place to be Tuesday evening.

Local cigar maker Luis Cortez has a new line of cigars called “Navesink” that he’ll be lighting up around the fire pit at  Salt Creek Grille on Tuesday, May 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. Cortez and his staff will be there to hand-roll cigars and answer questions about the new blend.

PieHole checked in on what’s going to be available from the bar to pair with the cigars. Smokers will have single-malts, including Cragganmore 12-year-old, Oban 14-year-old and others, as well as blended scotches and a few bourbons to pick from at a cash bar.

If you get there early for some happy hour deals  (Tuesday nights 4 to 6:30 p.m.), you’ll find glasses of wine, draft beers and items on the bar menu at half-off. There’s also there is a complimentary buffet fro 4 to 6 p.m..

Reservations are not necessary but helpful. Email Jennifer at  [email protected] for reservations or questions.
