Thomas J. Gravina, chairman of Riverview Medical Center Foundation, is proud to welcome six new members to the Board of Trustees. The newly elected Foundation Board of Trustees include: Hilary DiPiero, Charles E. Komar, Shawn Reynolds, Danielle Sherwood, Jonathan Schultz, and Benedict J. Torcivia, Jr.

“We are thrilled that these individuals have accepted positions on the Riverview Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees,” says Thomas J. Gravina, chairman. “These new trustees will join an elite group of leaders who have chosen to invest their time and skills in Riverview to help make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.”

Hilary DiPiero is an active member of the area community. She currently serves as a board member of Horizons, where she co-chaired both the 2013 and 2014 Albert E. Martin, Jr. Hoops for Horizons event. She has also served on the committees for the 180 Turning Lives Around Gala and Monmouth County Historical Association Tea with Me Benefit. In addition, she and her husband Domenic chaired the 2013 Meridian Health Gala, netting $500,000 for Meridian Health programs and services. Also in 2013, her family hosted the inaugural Riverview Medical Center Foundation Family Fireworks event, and welcomed the successful event back to the family home again this year.

Charles E. Komar is the president and CEO of Komar, a third-generation global consumer products company specializing in sleepwear started in 1908.  Since taking on the role of president at Komar in 1984, Charles has overseen substantial growth over the past three decades, managing a family-owned business into a multi-national company representing nearly 100 lifestyle brands. Charlie serves on the boards and the executive committees of American Apparel and the National Footwear association, while also serving on the board of Amboy Bank. From Rumson, Charles is a past president of Navesink Country Club.

Shawn Reynolds serves as co-portfolio manager of Van Eck Global Hard Assets Fund and Van Eck VIP Global Hard Assets Fund. Prior to joining Van Eck, Shawn served as an energy analyst covering U.S. oil and gas exploration and production companies at Petrie Parkman & Co. Throughout his career, Shawn has covered north American, European and global energy companies with Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse First Boston. Shawn has also been recognized by the Wall Street Journal and the Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Poll for his exploration & production stock selection. Shawn is the current chairman of the board for Rumson Country Day School.

Jonathan Schultz is the co-founder, managing principal and investment committee officer of Onyx Equities, LLC.  Jonathan is also a member of the Metro NY chapter of YPO.  Serving as a founding board member of the “Award of Courage” Foundation, Jonathan raised significant funds for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and is a past recipient of their Humanitarian Award.  Jonathan has been recognized as one of the “Commercial Brokerage All-Stars” by Real Estate New York, he was twice named one of “New Jersey’s Most Successful Business Executives under 40” by Business News New Jersey.

Danielle Sherwood is the former COO of Alson Capital Partners.  Prior to Alson Capital, Danielle was COO of Lehman Brothers Mergers & Acquisitions and COO of Banc of America Securities Investment Bank.   Danielle is currently Board President of 180 Turning Lives Around, Executive Committee member of Horizons Advisory Board and a past Trustee of the Rumson Country Day School.  Danielle has also been involved in fundraising for Harvard Business School and an Educational Counselor for MIT.

Benedict J. Torcivia, Jr. is co-president of Torcon, Inc., a family-owned construction services organization that ranks among the nation’s top construction management and general contracting firms. Ben currently sits on the Red Bank YMCA Foundation Board, and formerly served as chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee of Rumson Country Day School, as well as the Sea Bright Planning and Zoning Board. Recently Ben served as president of the Board of the Building Contractors Association of New Jersey and is presently the treasurer of the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey. Ben rejoins the Riverview Medical Center Foundation board after ending his most recent term of service in 2010.
