RED BANK: BATMOBILE HEADING TO GOTHAM

batmobile-3539690The classic Batmobile — last seen around town with none other than Adam West as a passenger — returns to Red Bank this Tuesday evening (and with Catwoman as special guest, yet) for a Spring Business Networking Event at the new Gotham restaurant. (Photo by John T. Ward)

When last the redbankgreen camera spied the classic “Batman ’66” version of the Batmobile on the streets of Red Bank, it was engaged in a low-speed, high-stakes drag race with the Green Hornet’s Black Beauty (with no less than TV’s Caped Crusader Adam West as shotgun passenger), as a tie-in to the AMC series Comic Book Men.

This Tuesday evening, the Dynamic Duo’s supercharged ride is scheduled to appear once more in the borough — summoned not by the Bat-Signal, but by social media — as the new Gotham Lounge hosts its first-ever Spring Business Networking and Red Carpet Event.

Presented by Jersey Shore Premiere Events, the 6 to 9 pm affair offers area professionals and entrepreneurs an opportunity to “promote your business and network with over 150 business owners” from Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean Counties. It’s a happening that further promises the personal presence of Batman’s sleek frenemy, the Catwoman — one that benefits the RAINE Foundation, a nonprofit organization (rhymes with the Wayne Foundation) that provides food, clothing and assistance to needy neighbors in the Bayshore communities of Monmouth.

A raffle with all proceeds dedicated to RAINE will be conducted at the event, and all who purchase raffle tickets will be able to enjoy a weather-permitting photo op with the Gotham City guests; appearances sponsored by First Klass Vinyl and Sparkle City Car Wash. The event organizers will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the RAINE people, and the evening will also spotlight the announcement of the Jersey Shore Premiere Awards, “honoring businesses, entrepreneurs and other individuals for outstanding involvement in our community.”

Tickets ($15) include hors d’oeuvres and drink specials, and can be reserved at a discount here, or via the event’s Facebook page.
