Red Bank police arrested a West Side man for alleged sexual assaults on a minor, according to a police report.

Benigno Barrios-Arenas, 50, of Shrewsbury Avenue was arrested Thursday and charged with sexually touching an 8-year-old girl in his charge and masturbating in her presence, the report states.

Multiple incidents were alleged to have occurred over the past month at the defendant’s home, according to Chief Darren McConnell, who said police were alerted by school officials after the girl reported the alleged incidents to them.

Barrios-Arenas was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Leslie Ann Justus set bail at a full $250,000.
