Two Democratic challengers put up strong numbers, but not enough to topple the two incumbent Republicans on the ticket for Fair Haven council Tuesday, according to results posted by the Monmouth County Clerk.
With all six districts counted the results were:
Jonathan Peters (R), incumbent council president
1,597 votes, 27.02 percent of the total cast
Rowland Wilhelm (R), incumbent
1,544 votes, 26.12%
Shervyn vonHoerl (D)
1,314, 22.23%
Christopher Rodriguez (D)
1,451, 24.55%
