LINCROFT: CBA PLAYERS MAKE A GREAT MATCH

cba-pegasus-players-3385582The Pegasus Players from Christian Brothers Academy (pictured in their 2016 musical production of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE) return to the school’s Henderson Theater stage this weekend, with the fall dramatic production of Thornton Wilder’s THE MATCHMAKER.

Press release from Christian Brothers Academy

Pegasus Production Company, the student-run theater company at Christian Brothers Academy has been at it again, working hard on their staging of the Thornton Wilder play The Matchmaker. Running for six performances, the annual fall dramatic production is set to premiere this Friday, November 11, and will feature a cast and crew of talent from CBA,as well as several other area schools.

The dedicated students have spent countless hours on this amazing show from the author of Our Town, and are thrilled to share their play with the CBA community. In the play that would later serve as as the foundation for the popular musical Hello Dolly!, Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in 19th century Yonkers, NY decides to take a wife and employs the services of local  “matchmaker” by the name of Dolly Levi.

Mrs. Levi subsequently becomes involved with two of Vandergelder’s clerks, as well as several lovely ladies, and the headwaiter at an expensive restaurant where this swift farce runs headlong into hilarious complications.

A student-made promotional video for the show can be viewed here, and tickets can be purchased online at here or at the box office upon arrival. All performances will be held inside the Henderson Theater on CBA’s Lincroft campus, with curtain times at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays (November 11, 12, 18, 19), as well as a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on November 13, and a 5 p.m. evening performance on Thursday, November 17.
