One of many purple ribbons that appeared on light poles in downtown Red Bank Wednesday with the morning sun shining on St. James church in the background.
The ribbons are part of the Domestic Violence Awareness Month events planned by the organization 180 Turning Lives Around in partnership with the Borough of Red Bank. From the organization’s social media post about its “Paint the Town Purple” events: “We have events and activities throughout the month to bring awareness and visibility to our mission of empowering survivors and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault to find the courage and strength to turn their lives around.” (photo by Brian Donohue)
