South Street resident Katie Katzgrau looks to the stars for inspiration, having recently spun up a new bedtime story for her boys.
The former elementary school teacher and mother of two remarked, “I think it’s important that our most cherished bedtime stories grow and evolve with the times, so I came up with this to put a modern take on a beloved classic.”
Up in the big dark starry night,
The busy drones buzz with all their might,
To record a building, make a map,
And get the job done, lap by lap.The sun has set, the day is done,
It’s time for drones to start their fun,
So one by one they fly overhead,
While their lights blink green and red,
A zip and zoom and swirl and sway,
No one can seem to track their way!Working hard to help its team,
The sky is lit, with beam after beam,
Zooming, buzzing, flying high,
The drone points a light down from the sky,
Shining down, right on its mark,
Turn night vision on, it’s very dark.
Mrs. Katzgrau is, of course, referring to the numerous drone sightings that have mystified residents and apparently government officials statewide, including those in Red Bank.
