Work crews over the past week have been removing a row of five tall oak trees on Tilton Avenue on the grounds of the Montgomery Terrace apartment complex.
The crews started on the first trees earlier this week and continued working their way toward James Parker Boulevard apparently removing the trees Thursday. The complex is managed by the Red Bank Housing Authority. Emails to RBHA Executive Director Lisa Richardson Monday and Thursday were not returned.
Borough Manager Jim Gant told redbankgreen in an email he had no information on why the trees were being removed because they were not on borough property.
The Red Bank Housing Authority, recently completed two reports outlining options for redevelopment of the 40-unit complex that range from renovating existing buildings to building new ones.
