The St. James Royals, based at St. James school and parish in Red Bank won the national Pop Warner 14U championship in their first year as an organization last weekend.
The Royals defeated the Coyote Creek (CA) Wildcats 19-6 last weekend in Orlando, Florida at the Pop Warner Super Bowl.
The St. James football program is open to all participants that attend St. James Elementary School, are members of the St. James Parish or those that do not have a Pop Warner program in their town, according to their web site.
In addition to the 14U team, the Royals fielded an 11U team which captured the shore conference championship. They are hoping to field additional teams next season.
