An equipment problem at the Jersey Central Power & Light Red Bank substation caused a brief power outage for a large swath of the town around midnight Tuesday, a company spokesperson said.
The outage began at 11:57 pm Monday and affected 3300 customers, spokesman Christoper Hoenig said in an email. “Crews were able to quickly isolate and restore, so the outage lasted 28 mins.”
We were asleep and awakened when the soothing sounds of the box fan in the window on a perfect sleeping weather night were interrupted by the shock of total silence.
Some of you, we are sure, were disappointed to miss your ritual midnight viewing of the Friends reruns on Channel 11. Or whatever else you maniacs still up at midnight are doing at that hour.
Okay, now that you know what happened you can go reset all the clocks in your house.
